Walter is the youngest at Happy Dog Healthy Dog, not only in age, but also in spirit. His days are filled with games, playing ball, seeing how many balls he can get in his mouth and following his older sister, imitating everything she does.

He loves his family, he lives to be one of the pack, he knows he is not the leader and is fine with that, but we all know he would lay down his life for anyone of us.

Walter is also a big talker. He makes the most unusual sounds when he has something to say, which is almost all day. He loves to communicate and we are slowly learning his language.

Walter, like most dogs does not like to be touched or approached from the top of his head. He wants everyone to keep that in mind when they meet a new dog. He loves people but likes to meet them on his own terms.

He also has a particular fascination with birds, while most dogs will chase smaller animals, he will sit perfectly still and watch them for hours, tilting his head this way, then that way, as if listening to them. He even tried saving a wounded bird on the sidewalk one day as we were walking, kissing it and nudging it gently, then looking to me asking for help.

His nickname is "Shrek" and if you could see what he does with his ears when he is really happy, you would know how he got that name!!!! We love you WALTER!!!
